This initiative is...
more than just story time.
Every Child Deserves a Story That Sees Them.
Some children grow up surrounded by books. They fall asleep to stories that sound like their families, look like their neighborhoods, and reflect back the fullness of who they are.
Not every child gets that.
Story Time at Small House is changing that, one book at a time, one classroom at a time, one child at a time.
What We're Doing
Through our literacy initiative, we place sponsored copies of Penny and the Wishing Well in childcare centers and early learning classrooms in underserved communities. Each book donation is paired with a curated story experience and the opportunity for a live author visit, because a book is just the beginning of the magic.
We believe that when a child sees themselves in a story, something shifts. They begin to understand that their voice matters. That their imagination belongs in print. That they, too, are the hero.
Your Gift Plants That Seed.
When you donate to Story Time at Small House, you are not just buying a book. You are:
-
Placing a story in the hands of a child who may never have owned one.
-
Supporting early literacy in communities that need it most.
-
Funding live author visits that bring books to life in real, unforgettable ways. Investing in a generation of young readers, thinkers, and future storytellers.
